6Points Charities

Our Charities

We have chosen to support a small number of Charities to ensure that we make a big difference to them.

All three of our Charities provide incredible support to the vulnerable (both humans and animals) and the amazing work they do brings emotional tears to the eyes of our 6Pointers when they witness what is being achieved.

Our charities rely on 6Points for funding each year and the donations received from our riders and donors makes a huge difference in terms of what they can do in support of the community in Mallorca.

Since its inception in 2017, the 6Points charity initiative has achieved more than we could ever have imagined, raising over an incredible €260,000 to date.

Our sincere thanks go to all of our Donors, Corporate and Private!

We simply could not do this without you!

PURE CHARITY
The 6Points ethos shines through – no Board or Organizing Committee member receives any benefits. We’re truly all about giving back.

With a focus on supporting our community, the majority of 6Points donations go to Calvia-based charities. In 2024, organizations like Asdica, SOS Animal, and Shambhala Foundation received vital support thanks to our wonderful 6Points family.

You’ll find more on each of these wonderful charities summarised below but do click on the logo to read more from their websites and learn even more about the incredible work they do.

For more than 28 years, Asdica has been supporting young disabled people and their families in the municipality of Calvià, Mallorca with the goal of enabling them to live, as far as possible, a normal life.

Asdica provides three main areas of support:

Activities to support and allow socialising, such as outings which provide fun for the members and much needed respite and time off for the families or carers.  Every summer, they also stage an ambitious live stage show which is worked on for months, and in which the members love to perform.

The provision of critical physiotherapy and rehabilitation treatments, adapted to the physical requirements of each patient. This is aimed at improving the quality of life for members with physical disabilities, victims of accidents or persons affected by muscular or degenerative conditions, as well as looking after the well-being of their respective family members.

Psychological support such as social skills, controlling emotions, and communication. The main objective of the service is to improve the mental state of the members and their families.

One of Asdica’s senior Committee Members said “We are so grateful to the 6Points cyclists and Donors, your financial support, over seven years, is amazing”.  She went on to say that she does not know how her family would have ever coped without Asdica.

Shambhala is dedicated to providing opportunities, education and growth to young people at risk of social exclusion and without financial resources.

They are called “Warriors”, because they have additional battles to fight to live a “normal” life.  Shambhala helps to arm them by providing support throughout their individual journeys into adulthood.

Through the charity’s integrated activities and programs, the “Warriors” and their families are offered hope for a better future.

There are four main programs in which the warriors participate: education, community service, martial arts and fitness, and personal development coaching.

Shambhala’s goal is to prepare the young people to enable them to have a productive, self supporting life and to become assets to the community.

6Points is proud to have been able to support Shambhala and, as a result, in 2024, Shambala has been able to pay for the following courses:

  • University enrollment in Computer Engineering
  • 2 university enrollments in History
  • University enrollment in Nursing
  • University registration in Tourism
  • University enrollment in Pedagogy
  • FP medium degree in Nautical (tuition and material)
  • FP medium degree in Aesthetics (tuition and materials)
  • FP medium degree of Social Integration
  • FP medium degree in Business and Administrative Management (tuition and materials)
  • A2 level English courses for 6 months for 3 youths.

Nestled in Calvia, SOS Animal is an incredible non-profit organisation which has been a beacon of hope for stray dogs and cats since 1995.

SOS Animal Mallorca is run by a dedicated team who tirelessly rescue homeless animals, providing them with love, care, and medical attention. Their mission is to find these deserving animals forever homes, while also working to control the feral cat population through humane birth control measures. Sadly, many animals face an uncertain future without the vital work of SOS Animal Mallorca. By donating to this fantastic charity, you’ll be directly contributing to their lifesaving efforts.

SOS Animal don’t only help animals but also the owners, often because they are obliged to leave their animals not because they want to. Losing their home because of divorce, not being able to pay a high rent where animals are admitted, sickness, etc. can all be contributors. They are very grateful to know that SOS Animal will try their best to take good care and find new homes for their pets.

SOS Animal also has an ambitious program to control the feral cat population in Calvia by providing a cat trapper with a van giving support to people who are feeding feral cats but do not have the possibility of trapping for neutering.

The support provided by 6Points helps in so many ways and makes up a large percentage of the donations received. Money is needed to provide food, shelter and medical supplies for the animals while they await their new forever home.

Further funds are desperately needed to fund infrastructure and continue a high standard of care. The monies donated by 6Points makes a huge difference to the defenceless animals
