“I wanted to create a small cycling event for my friends who live in Mallorca; we wanted to treat it like a stage race but without the racing, starting and ending at different points each day rather than returning to the same hotel each night. We planned a three day lap of the island, visiting roads and climbs that aren’t on the traditional routes of other events. The idea grew and grew, and we ended with the concept of 6Points that you see today; we added support vehicles and safety as more riders signed up, we partnered with local charities, we were joined by riders from as far away as North America and Australia. Mallorca is a wonderful place for cyclists, and I’m delighted that 6Points Mallorca has proven so popular with my friends, from the early friends riding the first event, to the new friends who join us every year.
As part of the event, we support local charities such as Asdica, Yachting Gives Back (food for the poor) and SOS Animal and have raised over €159,000 for charities since our first 6Points in 2017.
Bryan Visser, founder of 6Points
All 6Points events are set up to provide the very best experience for riders. We provide multiple groups of varying speeds for you to choose from, and ride leaders for navigation and support. Each group has a support vehicle, and we handle your luggage between hotels so you can focus on the ride. Groups are made up of about twelve riders typically, but you’re welcome to switch between groups each day if you want to take it easy or perhaps push on in a quicker group.
We’ve built our major 6Points Events (Mallorca, Ibiza and Formentera and Menorca) to have the feel of a big stage race, without the racing. With massed starts, support vehicles, well organised groups of riders, and a passionate ground crew, the atmosphere each morning as we roll out is fantastic.
However, to maintain this style of event, we’ve decided to cap the number of riders participating to a relatively small number (<95). This helps us ensure the event doesn’t become unmanageable, our groups stay at a good size, and everyone has the feeling of being part of a very special event. Book early to avoid disappointment.
