Welcome to the summer edition of our 6Points newsletter and thank you to all our riders, support car drivers, corporate donors and charities for making our Reverence Hotels 6Points Mallorca ride 2025, one of the best ever.
We had an incredible 76 riders complete the Mallorca 6Points ride this year, along with… the best weather, some wonderful celebratory dinners, many opportunities to socialise with each other and we created fabulous memories. You can find a link to our professional photos here https://scholey.pixieset.com/6pointscycling/. Huge thanks to our photographer Christopher Scholey for giving his time and capturing these magic moments.
We’ve also raised over €20k of private donations in support of our 3 charities so far and €46,910 in total in 2025. Thank you to each of our riders for achieving such an impressive total and don’t forget to reach out to friends, family and work colleagues who supported you to thank them.

A first timers’ perspective – by Graeme Bird
Cycling in Majorca is second to none – the roads and views are perfect in the May sunshine. Add to that, the fact that this was a challenge with fellow cyclists for charity, the decision to participate was easy.
The 6Points Reverence Hotels cycling challenge exceeded my expectations from start to finish. The ‘Welcome Dinner’ was a great way to brief cyclists of all abilities willing to take on the challenge. Soon you are chatting with fellow team cyclists including those who have previously participated. The enthusiasm brought by the group was invigorating as some of us were about to achieve something we had not done before.
Cycling in the ‘Muntanas’ group was at a joint pace, great ‘chat’ and we all helped each other if required. Whilst following a pre-set route the group leaders took control and kept the bunch together. The biggest bonus was the support crew who were always there with a smile when we needed refreshments.
Overall, this event was very professional, light hearted, warm, fun and to be repeated. I hope Bryan and the 6Points Committee continue with this fantastic challenge, supporting local Mallorca charities whilst creating great memories.
What is takes to ‘Everest’ – by Claire Tibbott
“Taking on the ‘Everest’ challenge with 6Points – 520km and 8,848m of climbing – was one of the most physically and emotionally demanding experiences I’ve ever attempted. As a woman, achieving this milestone felt even more meaningful and important. It reminded me that there truly are no boundaries when it comes to what we can achieve – not in gender, not in age, not in self-belief. I went into the event with real doubts about whether I was capable, but with the encouragement of an extraordinary group of riders and the unwavering support on and off the road, I discovered strength I didn’t know I had. I hope that in sharing this, other women feel inspired to push themselves, to say yes to the challenges that scare them, and to trust that – with the right team around them – they can surprise themselves too.
Cycling is a beautiful equaliser. It gives women the opportunity to perform in the same arena as men – to be supported by them, to be lifted and accepted as equals, and to flourish as part of one powerful team. These days of riding might seem like just that – a few long days in the saddle – but I truly believe they seep into other parts of our lives, pushing us to be better humans.
This was my second ride with the 6Points family and I continue to be blown away by what the 6Points team has created. Run entirely by volunteers with love and dedication, the event punches far above its weight. As we now approach the 10-year anniversary, the momentum feels unstoppable – a community-driven event with the potential to stand tall on the global stage. I’m proud to be a part of this journey, and I hope others will join us to help write the next chapter of the 6Points legacy.”
Muntanas Cappuccinos – by Hamish Goddard
Having been a Group Leader on the Valles route for the last three 6Points Mallorca rides, I had done enough training over the last year to ride in the Cappuccino group on the Muntanas route and stepped down from my leader role, keen to enjoy the mountains and particularly the first day across the entire Tramuntana from Andratx to Puerto Pollensa, over the roof of Puig Major on the way – the highest point on Mallorca reachable by road.
142kms and 2,875m later, Stage 1 of Muntanas Cappuccinos is unquestionably a tough day in any language. With the group being expertly led by John McAulay and Graham Foster, on every section other than some small separations on a few of the climbs, this was one of the most cohesive groups with whom I have had the pleasure of riding over the full three days, beautifully looked after by our brilliant support car team of Ali and Becky, armed with copious quantities of home-made, delicious flapjacks, amongst endless other goodies and plenty of cold drinks.
The first day is always the toughest, although Stage 2 did include a longer distance overall at 148kms and just under 2,000m and started with Mallorca’s arguably prettiest round-trip route to Cap Formentor and back, before heading south to Cala Millor via the inland monastery atop Santa Magdalena.
Stage 3 gave us a gentle following breeze towards Palma via the tough and hot climb to the monastery at San Salvador with its quite stunning views and technical descent – this followed by the flat and hot sections of the interior, giving us a good average of 25k/h for the 135kms of the final day and the fabulous welcoming party back at Port Adriano, where another 6Points Finishers Medal was looped over my head by one of the joyously engaged party from the Asdica charity, just one of the important local charities supported by this superb event.
Unquestionably blessed by beautiful weather and a brilliant team of both riders and support throughout, the 2025 6Points Mallorca was a ‘Muntanas Cappuccinos’ ride to remember.
What it takes to be a 6Points Support Car Driver – by Heather Clemence
Being a support car driver is both exhilarating and enjoyable. The ability to navigate the roads of Mallorca, map read and make on-the-spot decisions is all part of the brief! Also, being flexible and communicating clearly are essential.
Most importantly, it is being able to anticipate the rider’s needs and keep them supplied with enough water and food to ensure the pressure is taken off them, allowing them to concentrate on enjoying the beautiful and often challenging roads. A sense of humour and a caring, supportive nature are also helpful, as is a good knowledge of first aid.
We had one unexpected moment this year… on the final day we had agreed to meet our riders at the top of Puig de Randa for a quick lunch stop. Being a Sunday there was nowhere open to buy provisions, but a friendly bar owner kindly agreed to make 10 pa amb olis (traditional mallorcan sandwiches) which we delivered to the hungry riders. We were very popular!
From a support car driver’s perspective, it is a fantastic way to spend 3 days with wonderful people in stunning countryside – I highly recommend it.
As has become tradition, we were once again greeted at the finish line of the 6Points 2025 charity ride by Asdica members giving us our medals, alongside the Shambhala Warriors. It was also wonderful that Maxi from SOS Animal was there to celebrate with us.
In this edition we wanted to shine a spotlight on ASDICA, probably the most widely known of our three charities.
ASDICA has been very busy again this year, providing essential services to those with disabilities in need of assistance, along with their families. And they’ve been doing this since 1996 – nearly 30 years!
Anabel, from ASDICA, explained “The first half of 2025 started with energy and eagerness with two main projects in mind… the further development of established specialist educational services for young people with learning disabilities and the expansion of comprehensive physiotherapy services”.
The last 6 months saw an increase in the number of activities on offer for the ‘Grupo de Jóvenes’ including Batucuda, theatre, psychology, weekend outings and individual outings. Batucuda, which is a form of music, heavy on drums and rhythm, is a very popular regular activity and this will continue through 2025. This is a great way for youngsters to have fun and express themselves. It has long been accepted that percussion in music facilitates stress reduction and improved well-being, as well as general mental health.
The annual theatre production for Asdica this year was Shrek. Every year there is huge excitement surrounding the show. As all the performers are young people with learning difficulties, there is always an exceptional amount of hard work carried out by the Asdica team, and obviously the young association members. Many many hours of practice and rehearsals of dialogue and dance and treading the boards.
It would be wonderful if next year, lots of island based 6Pointers could bring family and friends, and clap and cheer the performers like they’ve never heard before.
Physiotherapy services continue to have huge positive effects on those youngsters with physical disabilities. Improved strength and mobility significantly enhances their quality of life.
Anabel made the point that without 6Points, they would have to scale back significantly and fewer youngsters would receive fewer services. So, congratulations and thanks to all the riders who raised much needed funds, and to any of you who think you can still raise more off the back of having just completed the ride, please, please do so by visiting www.6PointsChallenges.com and DONATE.
